Also An ATI Graphic Card or NVidia?

Depends some games hate ATI and makes shitty performance, but ATI is overall better ATM...

6 is optimal and anything more then 6 is overkill i myself got 8 but it makes no difference waste of money

I got 4GB Ram, plenty for gaming.
MW2 works fine on it, so I am happy enough.

4-8 is pretty good, make sure your motherboard is able to support that much ram though.

i have 3 GB RAM and call of duty 4 has terrible FPS on the standard maps 20-50 depending on map... its barely playable and that's with all of the graphical content on minimum lmao!

RAM Isn't going to fix all your problems.
But it's best to be prepared, RAM isn't as expensive as it used to be so it's best to get the maximum amount of ram your computer will allow (Not if it's an Alienware or a ProGamming computer that supports 24gig, That's kind of overkill.)

8-12 Should have you set for the next few years. I would consider go with Dual Nvidia graphics cards if your CPU allows that, Be careful about what you buy though, Your PC may need a power supply upgrade if the graphics card is way ahead of the time the computer was original built.

4Gig- Bare Minimum these days
6Gig-Set for most things.
8Gig-Set for the time being
10/12Gig- Set for the future.

The more the better, games are always getting better and need more and more.

One of my desktop has 12gigs ddr3, however I don't game on it. It is really used for vm.

I do game on my laptop though and have 6gigs. It is alright however it is time for an upgrade. Ive been looking into a laptop which is custom built, for around $5,000 I can get a 24gig ddr3.

If your into vm there is no such thing as over kill.

I have 8 gigs.. and that was like a year ago 8- 12 is where you should be... along with a decent graphics card....

I say from what i know about gaming is that if u want the best type of performance u can get its 12 Gigs 24 is WAY to much to have ati radeon 5700/5800/5900 if u can get dual processcors i cant really explain just get somethink thats like 3.33 or something overclocked
