It needs to be used for pc gaming and I might be doing some video editing on it.

I recommend an Alien Ware. They have one that starts at 600 and another that starts at 800 I think.

If you get an HP make sure that its not one of the models that overheat. There are many models (including mine) that overheat

quickly and make weid fan noises

If you are looking into serious PC gaming, you need to role with a desktop PC. You can get so much more bang for your buck by getting a desktop.
Laptops are overpriced, and only last around 4 (good) years.
