If you’re not planning on upgrading your iPad any time soon but you would like in on some of that smart cover action, this simple DIY hack can help.

At the design blog The Russians Used a Pencil, they share a clever way to attach the new iPad smart cover to a previous generation iPad.

You’ll need four neodymium magnets, some glue, and no aversion to gluing said magnets to the spine of your iPad. Check out the video below to see it in action:
