This is a tutorial on how to install Steam on Ubuntu 10.10+.
I'm not sure if it's been posted before but if it has then please report this to be closed. I do search before I post.
I thought this was a unique subject since I don't believe many people use Ubuntu (Prove me wrong

).
I always wanted to get steam on Ubuntu but never knew how, hint: I do know now :lol:.
Ok so let's get into it =D.
[multipage= Download]
First thing's first download the .msi file from steams site.
You must login or register to view this content.
Ok save it to a location you can get to it again.
Now you downloaded that open Ubuntu software centre and type in the search 'wine'.
You must login or register to view this content.
Once you typed 'wine' in install the top three shown in the screenshot above.
Now that that's done we move onto the install of steam.
[multipage=Install]
Find the .msi file that you downloaded from the link from Steam.
You must login or register to view this content.
Right click the file and go to permissions, set 'Allow executing' as yes (click the box as show in the screenshot above)
Next is to go through the installation. I do not have screenshots of that because I already installed it and didn't want to uninstall.
The setup is pretty simple just like windows, just make sure it runs with wine (right click and open with wine).
That's it, not sure if every game is compatible but I'm sure most are.
Please
quote me with any problems.
