(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Right guys, I have recently been looking in how to boot a few things from a USB, that don't have 'official' installers, and weirdly it was quite a difficult thing to come across... So I came up with this method that works 100% every time! Smile

What you will need:

  • You must login or register to view this content. However I recommend not using the trial version... I'll make a thread in premium with a link to get it free.
  • Your .iso File... i.e. Windows 7/ vista or some of the less popular versions of Linux that don't have 'official' installers.
  • Your USB that has been formatted.

First what you're going to have to do is, format your USB...
Windows .iso = NTFS
Linux .iso Magglass1 = Fat32
Other? Ask below...

Once you have PowerISO installed, and you have your image file:

  1. Open your .iso using PowerISO
You must login or register to view this content.

    .
  2. Plug in your flash drive/ USB
    .
  3. In PowerISO select "Extract" and choose the location of your Pre-formatted USB stick.
You must login or register to view this content.

    .
  4. Allow that to extract,(may take up to 15 minutes) then 'safely remove'/ eject your USB.
You must login or register to view this content.
Now all that you have to do is restart your PC press F2/F12 to enter boot options, select your USB and follow the installer from then on in/ if it's Linux just run it from your USB if you wish! Awesome face

Voila, it is really that easy! =D

An even simpler program that I use all the time is called Universal USB Installer Its simpler to use and completely free. You should check it out.
