Post: Allocate More RAM to Minecraft! (Mac)

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This is a tutorial on how to allocate more RAM (Random Access Memory) To minecraft.. (Or any other .jar in fact) on a mac =D

First.. Go to applications
You must login or register to view this content.

Then. Click the utilities folder

You must login or register to view this content.

After that.. Click Java Preferences.

You must login or register to view this content.

Then, in the text box. type the following.
    java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft.jar


Change 1024 to one of the following corresponding to the amount of RAM you would like to allocate to minecraft.

1 Gigabyte = 1024
2 Gigabytes = 2048
3 Gigabytes = 3072
4 Gigabytes = 4096
6 Gigabytes = 6144
8 Gigabytes = 8192
(Credit to Skylerleighty for those numbers)

After you've done that press enter and close minecraft.

Open minecraft again and the changes will be applied.

Any game that uses Java Mark.. It wouldn't work with steam games.
