(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello guys, first off before i give you the tutorial I would like to point out my reputation is NOT good. However because of it, it doesn't mean that this tutorial isn't legit. If you don't believe anything here get out or prove it yourself by researching online.

NOTE: OK now before you start this process, please note that you must have some computer knowledge, if you lack that, you will F*ck your computer up. So follow every step exactly as it says here! Unless you know how to do this yourself!

Also if this happened to be posted before, I am sorry for the inconvenience!

Tutorial

Part One: Shrinking Hard drive to make a new unacollated partition

Now to begin this, first you must manage your disk drive. To do this:

1) Go to desktop>Start>Computer>Right click>Manage
2) A window should appear, in that window under storage, click disk management.
3) You should see your C drive, right click it and click on 'Shrink Volume'
4) After it reads how much space you can shrink you can shrink as much as you want. I reccomend shrinking at least 50000 MB which equals up to 50 GB because when installing an OS on a new partition, it takes 15GB to install the OS.
5) After that you should see a new unacollated partition with the amount of space you shrunk it into!

Part Two: Making a new Partition

Your now done with part one of the tutorial, but now you must actually make the partition!

1) Once you have the unacollated partition, right click and click 'Creat new simple volume'
2) A wizard will pop up, keep the partition as basic, and the file system at NTFS.
3) Then name it to whatever you want, I named mine 'Windows Vista' because I am installing windows vista on my windows 7 computer!

Part Three: Setting your BIOS to boot a DVD/CD ROM before booting your OS

Ok, this is probably the trickiest part of the tutorial, and there's no going back now. So if you are having second thought turn back now or continue on!

1) Get your DVD of your bought Operating System so you can install windows onto the new partition to dual boot. I will be using a windows vista DVD. (You can also use a pirated version of any OS but i will not release a tutorial for that because it is illegal and i don't support them!)
2) Put the DVD into the dvd drive on your computer. Once its in, shut down your computer.
3) This is a tricky step, and yours will be different from mine, depending on your laptop brand. For this step I am using an Acer laptop but it will be different if you have dell etc.!
4)Turn your computer back on, then where the first screen pops up where you see your laptop brand name, press either F2 or F12 or something different depending on your brand. Mine is F2. But if you don't know yours, just pay attention it will tell you which key to press but you must look carefully! This will open up your computer settings.
5) Once you've figured it out and have it opened, look for something where it says "BIOS" or "BOOT" anything with those in the name!
6) Your going to want to open up where it says that, here you are going to change the order of your boot option. The first one will be booting your OS first. And you want to change that to booting up your CD/DVD rom first. Make the first boot option your DVD/CD rom and the second option to what normally the first one was!
7) Now save your settings and exit.
Cool Man (aka Tustin) Shut your computer off again, then turn it on.
9) You will see a black screen which will say "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD" Or something like that!
10) Press any key (Make sure you still have your OS disk in your computer)
11) Now it should say "Windows is loading files" and the windows installer should pop up.
12) when installing choose custom install and MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE TO INSTALL THE WINDOWS ON THE PARTITION YOU MADE PREVIOUSLY OR ELSE IT WILL DELETE EVERYTHING ON YOUR REGULAR HARD RIVE!
13) Once its done isntalling windows, next time you turn your computer on you will see an option to boot the operating system you have. Mine will say windows 7 and windows vista. Just use the up and down arrow and hit enter to choose which OS to go on!

You now can dual boot!Smile

Also here are some useful programs that will help you in this tutorial!

You must login or register to view this content. - This is called EasyBCD which helps you create boot options and to edit them!

You must login or register to view this content. - This is called Acronis Disk Director Home, you can use this just encase you are having problems making a new partition!

Thats actually a really good idea. I'm going to wait for windows 8, then dual boot it with my windows 7 ultimate.

And for those of you reading this and saying, "WTF??!!" I'm making a video to help you understand better

What are the advantages of dual booting a PC, and can you use a USB instead of a CD?

The advantages are having two or more operating systems at one time! And yes you can boot it with a usb but the usb must be at least 8GB
