Post: iBook G4 to Lion?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys, i have an ancient lap top called an ibook g4 and i really know nothing about the inside of a computer. So i was wondering, is it possible to replace the entire inside of this laptop and replace it with up-to-date hardware so i can run the current software and have my lap top running fast.....let me know guys!

Yes it's possible, but is it cost efficient? No. It would be cheaper and easier to buy a new MacBook.

Like how expensive? Cuz if i was to buy a new mac book it would b like $2500

Firstly you would have to be well experienced with hardware, electronics. It would be quite the project. I'm guessing the CPU is soldered the the motherboard, so you would have to get a new one. Really its not possible for folk like us.

As for a new macbook they come cheaper than that, and are much more powerful than the G4 you have.

I wouldnt do it. I would go to sum kinda store lol, and the macbook i want isbaround $2500 lol

Well good luck finding a store to do that for any feasible price. The cheapest MacBook Pro they do is $1200.

i moved from a g4 to mpb in 2009 and the difference was great! that old case was plastic, yellowing and clunky, why keep it?
