Initial Changelog:
- Vastly improved memory usage (up to 50% better) and increased speed
- Added a new rendering backend to speed up Canvas operations on Windows systems
- Bookmark and password changes now sync almost instantly when using Firefox Sync
- Added support for text-overflow: ellipsis
- Added support for the Web Timing specification
- Added an opt-in system for users to send performance data back to Mozilla to improve future versions of Firefox. This can be enabled by installing an add-on
- Fixed several stability issues

There's no major new features added, so if you already use firefox there isn't really a point in not updating as it's just general improvements and fixes.

In 5 years Firefox get's to version 3.0
In 1 year it gets to 7.0

Firefox have adopted the google chrome version system due to google getting to version 14 already and they've only been making it for 2-3 years.

I don't know the specific name of it but it's a mental thing where most people would associate larger numbers with being around longer, and being better.

Mozilla have been working on memory usage heaps for a few months, 7 uses a lot less than what 4/5 used to (I'm pretty sure most of the memory usage improvements were incorporated in 6.0)
