(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); (this isnt mine so im not taking credit but i saw it on another forum)

Today I'm going to teach you kiddos how to get rid of that drab and quite frankly turd vista setup. Ive only had Vista for a few weeks, and even I could do it after all.
[NB: THIS IS VISTA ONLY AS FAR AS I KNOW]

So the finished product will look like this:

You must login or register to view this content.

So lets take a look at what makes up the desktop:

You must login or register to view this content.

This is called Rainmeter, download it You must login or register to view this content.
This is called Rocketdock, download it You must login or register to view this content.
These icons are called lucidicons, download them You must login or register to view this content.
This is called a Winamp skin, downloadable You must login or register to view this content. (note the one shown is shiet, the one ive linked to is MUCH BETTER)
HOW TO INSTALL SKINS

1. Download the skin (in this case HUD.Vision) You must login or register to view this content.

2. Extract the file to your hard drive, then send the folder to the following: C:\Program Files\Rainmeter\Skins . you will probably need to have admin permission for that.

3. Run rainmeter, and right click the icon next to your time, go to configs, and hud.vision should be there. mine shown above are:
HUD.Vision\White\RSSReader (this needs modifying for the site you want's RSS feed, PM me and i shall explain)
HUD.Vision\White\HDD1
HUD.Vision\White\Clock.Vision
HUD.Vision\White\CPU.Temperature
HUD.Vision\White\CPU

[OPTIONAL SKINS]

My other skins that I have are the moxa weather skin (shown top left). Downloadable You must login or register to view this content., it does need some modifying to show the weather in your area, if again you need help with that I will post how on here.

[HOW TO INSTALL THE DOCK]

1. Download the link that was in a purrty purple above, install etc and start adding programmes to it.

2. do this by right clicking on it, add item > blank icon, right click it and select icon settings.

3. type in the shortcut of the programme (easily found in properties of it), then you can add the relevant lucidicon of the programme by selecting the plus icon and finding the folder with the icons.

4. To make the actual dock float and simulate the icons floating, right click the dock and select dock settings.

5. Slide opacity to 0%.
