There is a red light on thr front which normaly says its off, but now when I press or hold the power button on the front it wont boot. I tried to turn it off from the back switch and unplug it and try again, now luck. My last few downloads were

How went was when the torrent was finish downloading ( using utorrent ) it was "checking the download in utorrent and there was a percent meter ( it looked just like it was downloading exept it said checking and was grey instead of green) when it got to 9.6% it just shut down and rebooted, so I was like "shit I guess this torrent has a virus" so I right clicked and hit remove to remove it from the list when my computer booted back up. also note when it booted up it tried checking the torrent sgain but I removed when it was at 0.4%. After it that it rebooted itself at differnt intervals of time each time ex. 5 min reboot,2 min reboot, 12min reboot ect. I tried doing a system restore to 5 days ago, nothing worked. ( take note it rebooted when I was doing differnt things each time ex. computer game, internet, ect. The last time I started to run a anti-malware virus check, when I woke up the computer was off and wont turn on. So I dont know really what to do now, it one of those a virus? is my computer just old or what, I just my computer on:(, please help.

I doubt the torrent was the problem. The person who uploaded it is Trusted and there is nothing but positive feedback in the comments.

If you ask me the jailbreak link seems 10x more suspicious. I mean an A5 untethered jailbreak? Really?

I highly doubt a computer virus would make it so that your computer wouldn't boot. A computer will always boot to the point of the BIOS because that is a physical component on the motherboard, that must be one advanced virus.

Try opening your computer and taking off the battery from the motherboard and just wait a few minutes. (UNPLUG YOUR PC AND GROUND YOURSELF BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS)

Put the battery back in and see if the PC will boot, if not then try to take out one stick of RAM and boot, (presuming that you have more than one stick, if not then leave it and try the next steps)

Try taking the HDD and plugging it into another computer. If it's an old IDE drive you may need to set the jumpers accordingly so that it is seen as a slave drive.

With the drive plugged in download MALWAREBYTES from CNET.downloads.com and run a scan of the HDD. If there is no virus found open it and back up whichever files you need just in case.

This is just a way so that you can access your data from this HDD without having to boot up this PC. The problem is most likely not a Virus and that some component of your motherboard has died.

Can you please supply me with computer specs?

Thanks and good luck :y:

If you're still looking for an iOS 5 untethered JB, I would suggest redsn0w. It's been out for about a month and I say is trusted and works perfectly.

As for your computer, the torrent seems legit to me. So the problem might be lurking somewhere else. How old exactly is it?
