Post: Custom PC Help!?!?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay, so I'm building my first custom PC and I have a few questions. First off I should tell you what I will be using it for. I will be using it for graphics, video editing, gaming and normal use (so a pretty decent range)

My first question- Should I buy a case and a motherboard separate or together?

Where should I buy all my parts from? Sites like newegg or what?

Also, for what I will be using it for, any advice on what parts I should get will be appreciated. Also, I will be willing to spend a decent amount of money because I want the computer to last me for AT LEAST 4 years.

1. No, buy separate.

2. Yes, buy from place like newegg, amazon, novatech, ebuyer, scan etc...

3. (you don't note your budget so prices might be a little high) Well you'll be doing a lot of graphics intensive work so i recommend buying a top of the line GPU like the GTX590 or the Radeon 6970 great cards for gaming, buy some good RAM like the Corsair Vengeance or Mushkin RAM the more the better i don't care what anyone says Smile. And finally the CPU an i5 or i7 overclocked would be a lovely addon to your system. oh just a little advice don't cheap out on the Power supply Corsair, Antec and Coolermaster are all great brands stick to them.

Now for your Motherboard i would HIGHLY recommend you do tons of research, this is going to be your baby for the next 4 years^ things to look for are what socket it is compatible with, the connections on the back of the board eg. USB3.0 esata HDMI etc...

I'm sorry i can't be any more useful to you if you quote me back with more specifics i will be able to give you a lot more detailed answers.

Oh sorry about the GPU i really didn't know your budget and NO please DON'T get a case with a power supply that you intend on using, most of them PSU are really cheaply made and blow after a month or two of usage and you run the risk of shorting out other components connected to them if they do, BUT if you find a nice good looking high air flow case with a PSU that comes with it buy it, but DON'T use the PSU.

Also if you don't mind me asking where abouts in the world do you live so i can get accurate prices of components for you?
