Do a barrel roll!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi all.

I'm planning on getting a new computer mainly for gaming and rendering videos for YouTube. Here is the build I'm looking at:

Model: XPS 8300
CPU: i7 2600 @ 3.4 GHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM
HDSad Awesome 1 TB SATA @ 3.0 Gb/ps
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 6450 1 GB DDR3

The place where I'm buying from has a ridiculous upmark if I want to upgrade any parts from them, so I'm planning to upgrade to either a 6770 or a Nvidia if the 6450 doesn't do the job, and probably upgrade the power supply (it's 460 watts) and the fan.

Any suggestions? Any idea how it will run games like Minecraft and MW2/MW3? Will it be able to run BF3 at decent settings? Thanks! Smile

Not really. The GPU is really a piece of crap at this point. It's fine for minecraft and could play Mw2/Mw2 on lower settings but I doubt you'll be able to play Bf3 at decent settings with this card unless you upgrade both the PSU and the GPU.

The CPU is great though, and everything else should be fine.

I'm just saying that you would most likely come off cheaper if you want to build it yourself, but if you don't then I guess what your doing is fine as well.

Thanks for the advice.

The markup on the site is so rip, and it takes awhile to explain my reasons for the 6450, but I'm basically planning to buy it with that, then upgrade to a Nvidia 500 series later, just because it would be so much cheaper to upgrade it myself as well as the fan and PSU, than get a Nvidia on the site I'm getting it from.
