(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I typically buy my computer stuff from Newegg or Microcenter, but i'm assuming with what happened in Japan, hard drive prices have sky rocketed. Any suggestions on where to get cheap HDs?

I wouldn't buy second hand or refurbished HDD's. They don't have great life to begin with because of all their moving parts.

Honestly your best shot is just to catch a deal or a sale or something, I personally won't recommend second hand HDD's unless you are really striped for cash.

Most HDD's now on Tiger Direct are still at a relatively cheap price, you can check them out if you'd like.

Eh, well with the Japan Disaster, it does not mean that hard drives are skyrocketing through the roof. Just keep your eye out for a good deal.
I bought my 3tb unit in August on amazon for $120.

The prices were really high, but they dropped a bit now. Best deal is on a 3 TB Drive like the guy above said.
If you do have a bit more money you could get an SSD..

Well it wasn't japan, prices have been this way since the flood in thailand last year.

Anyways tigerdirect tends to have some deals on Hard drives from time to time
