I am a bit confused here. So the hard drive crashed and erased all your stuff, so you reinstalled from a backup? Could you elaborate a little more. on what it was you have done so far?

i have had my hard drive crash (said all these files are unreadable) so i went to my factory image and restored it and here i am now (the factory image is built into the computer)

Just follow the instructions that the factor reset tells you to do it should just lead you through how to reset everything and install your OS again if the backup image is corrupted though you will have to phone whoever made the laptop and get them to send you recovery disk (These cost Money) to reset the laptop (that's what I had to do with my laptop after I fucked up partitioning the HDD)

But just to reiterate to reset the computer back to Factory setting you just turn it off and press something like F9 on boot up and do what it tells you from then on.
