(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hey guys i have at&t for my network provider and they state that we are supposed to get 12mbps so i did a connection test and got 12mbps for ethernet but 9 for wireless, is my wireless network adapter damaged? is there a way to get a better one? i just need some advice on what to do thanks!!!

Wireless is always slower than wired. Usually it's the limitation of the device itself not the router etc. Do a test on a few other things, if the result is constant, then it's just the way it is.

Is the wireless signal 90-100%?

It's not always slow,I get the same speed with wired and wireless,Maybe his signal is low or something,I have 100% and get the same speed as wired but like when I go to the other end of the house and it's 30% I can barley load facebook it is so slow :/

you need a good signal quality and good range to get the same speed as wired with wireless.

the reason for this cause is the signal strength of your router, I am not sure if you have a wireless modern or not, I do assume you have a router and at&t is not a suggested choice, if its cheaper and depending on your uses then stay with it, if not cheaper go to comcast also if you need assistance in router help I will help you, PM me we can chat and I will suggest a great one for you depending on your needs

Wired will always beat wireless.

1) Wired is a direct connection so that way you get max connection
2) Wireless has a loss of connection, especially when you take in consideration of the quality of the wireless piece you have.

There are some that you can buy that will give you your full 100% connection as if you were plugged in but those units can be expensive.

It also depends on your ports, 1, 2 or 3. 3 being the fastest, I have 1.0 usb ports because mine is old, I should get 20-25mb download but I get 12-14.

We have 30mb download.
