(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My motherboard is Gigabyte Z68AP-D3, I have Intel 3570K and ATI Radeon 7770 and Windows 7 and this is my case You must login or register to view this content.

So I'm new to the whole computer tech and yesterday I received my first real Gaming PC. But I had a problem with my Graphics card as my computer was using the INTEL HD 4000 GRAPHICS instead of my ATI Radeon 7770. So I thought that if I disabled the Intel Graphics my computer would start to use the Radeon GPU. I was wrong. So now I get nothing on my monitor.

After searching on the net for a couple of hours I discovered that resetting the CMOS would fix this. So I opened my case and found that my motherboard has CLR CMOS part but I couldnt find the little part that you put on the prongs. So then I found out that If I remove the Battery for 2 minutes and put it back it should reset the CMOS but that also failed to work.

Im just wondering if there is anything else I do before I take it to my local computer repair shop.

Most mobo's default to onboard graphics, even if you have another card. In the bios you might have to setup the new card as primary.

This is incorrect. Most if not all computers that I have seen have ALWAYS defaulted to the dedicated GPU and NOT the onboard graphics. I have a 2600k + GTX 580 and I have never had any issues like this.

This might be a stupid question, but for the Intel graphics to work, you need to use the onboard HDMI port on your motherboard. You must plug it into your GPU.

And have you checked all the boxes for the jumpers?

And I would also try what was mentioned above. Take the battery out and leave it overnight.

That is why I said most. I have had at least 3 mobos do this just because of bios settings. It is a rare occurrence but does happen.

Do a barrel roll!
Yeah, try changing the display adapter thing in the BIOS, and then it should work.
