(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Can anyone link me to a Power Supply that can handle 4-way or at least 3-way SLI. My Gigabyte G1 Sniper motherboard can support 3-way SLI or 3-way crossfire but I was just curious about 4-way SLI. By the way if I upgrade my power supply I might buy 2 more EVGA GTX 570's. Here is my current psu You must login or register to view this content.

Depends on your budget. However you'd be best with something like this for under 300 bucks:

It's surprisingly difficult to find fully modular PSUs that are above 1200W (which is borderline for a rig using quad 570's)

But if you're going for three way SLI get a Corsair 1200i. For quad SLI you're running a little to the border. A quad 480 rig runs at about 1100W from the wall. Not leaving much headroom.

You could look into this one as well: You must login or register to view this content.

Thanks for quick reply. How about my current power supply. It obviously wont run 3-way SLI cause it's only 750 watt but what about 2-way?

You could get away with it if you're not running stressful applications, but you'd be REALLY pushing it. It's best to have headroom with your components. You don't want to affect performance or make your PSU work extra hard to supply power. I'd say you SHOULD be okay. But don't take my word on it.

1500w for 3 way sli 570's? That's absolutely ridiculous. I seriously hope you haven't already bought a power supply yet. For three 570's you will need 800w. If you are just a self conscience nut and think you need more for the sake of "future proofing" then here is a gold rated SeaSonic.

What you really should be concerned about is the quality of the power supply. You will never ever go wrong with SeaSonic. Really and truly you don't even need as much power as the one I just posted, you would be perfectly fine with this one instead.

Firstly, I was talking about a QUAD SLI setup. (Which can't be done with 570's according to NVIDIA)

Now let me tell you something. The hotter the power supply runs, the more inefficient it gets. When you are sandwiching 4 cards together, you are going to get a lot of hot air in the case. There is absolutely no reason why you wouldn't want headroom especially when you are using high end hardware. Overclocking also eats up more power. There is no reason to make your PSU work extra. You're going to need multiple PCI power connectors as well.

I stand by my choice in going with a 1500W PSU. Also, I'm not sure where you're pulling 800 watts for 3 cards from. Most people I've talked to are running 1000W plus at the minimum. A very large portion of them are running 1200W for three cards. Everyone that I know who is running a 4 way SLI/CF configuration is either running two PSUs or a single 1500W PSU. (High end cards)

Edit: I can't believe I forgot this in my first post. You can't actually run 4 570's from EVGA. Therefore, the above power supplies will work just fine.
