(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey all, I've been looking into building my own computer because well, the PC I have right now is getting a bit out of date, and it's too slow for everything I use it for.
I'm on a budget though, but here's what I've managed to pull so far. Is this a good build? Any suggestions on adding/changing parts would be appreciated Smile

Usage: Recording PS3 games, editing, playing a few games like The Sims, Need for Speed, PS2 games (with an emulator of course), Skype
Budget: $1,000 tops

Build:
Case: NZXT H2 Classic Silent Mid-Tower Gaming Case $99
CPU: AMD FX-6100 3.30 GHz Six-Core AM3+ CPU 6MB L2 Cache & Turbo Core Technology $119
Fan and heatsink: Cooler Master V6 GT CPU Cooler $49
SSD (for OS/misc): 180 GB Intel 330 Series SATA-III 6.0Gb/s - 500 MB/s Read & 450 MB/s Write $149
HDD (storing the games I record on): 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 7200 RPM $69
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X 16GB (8GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory $73
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AMD 970 Socket AM3+ ATX Mainboard $109
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition $99
PSU: Thermaltake Smart Series SP-750M $114
GPU: GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 2GB 16X PCIe Video Card $69

The speakers and monitor will come later on. Those together would be:
Speakers: Logitech Z506 75 watts RMS 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers $89
Monitor: Acer Black 21.5" 5ms LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor $139

Oh before I forget, I live in Florida so it gets pretty hot, especially since I usually leave my computer on for a few days straight.. so is the case good enough for cooling? Even with extra fans?
Thanks!

if you live somewhere with high humidity i would advise a liquid cooling system, that way you wont wreck your pc. Also heat wise i would get a intel pc that will not be as powerful.
