So I have a really old e-mail address that I no longer use and my old man today said he'd received an e-mail from it with a link in it. I logged into the account and found it had been sending spam to a few contacts etc. and have now disabled the account which I'd been meaning to do for a while, but hadn't done due to not having update old sites to a new e-mail addresses.
My only concern is that, is whatever breached the account and sent the spam able to read through e-mails etc and acquire passwords and usernames or is it just a bot that spams? I'm changing passwords across the board just to be safe but I'm still worried. Also you think yahoo would immediately lock the fucking account if something from a strange IP accessed it but I don't know, either way yahoo mail is shit.
So should I be worried about it/them being able to access accounts linked to that E-mail or just move on and change passwords etc. My biggest fear is that they are able to access the account that was linked to that e-mail so again I'm changing everything linked to that account too.
