Post: Port forwarding Router Problems

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm not sure if this is the right section to ask this, but I feel like it has to do with computers in some way. When I try and port forward my router it never works. I've tried everything I had it works I'd say a year ago but one day it randomly stopped and won't port forward anymore. I have a SMC-8014wn. Not sure if it is the router or something I accidentally did, any help would be great thank you.

Is the port open through windows though?

4. Follow the instructions in the New Inbound Rule wizard. I didn't notice any instructions.

So I sorta guessed. What I did was I clicked Port, TCP, typed 25565 and repeated for UPD. I am not sure if that is right or not.

Oh boy, I've had a ton of issues with port forwarding in the past. First of all, some routers have a "Save changes" button that you have to click, sometimes it's not on the same page where you made the changes. I know mine doesn't change anything if I check mark something until I click on save changes. Try looking around for a button that says that.

Now if that doesn't work, I would suggest one of two things. Try putting the device that you are forwarding ports for on a DMZ, or disable DHCP on your router. Disabling DHCP only works if your modem can assign IP addresses, so we won't go with that for now.

To add a Device to the DMZ, you are going to have to find it, it could be under a different subheading. Not all routers might have that, so if you don't then revert back to trying to find the save button on the routers page.

I was reading the SMC manual online and ctrl-f to search for save changes this poppped up

4. Click the [Apply] button to save your changes and return to the Port Forwarding main
screen

I Click Apply so I might have to use the DMZ only problem is I don't know what that is at all.
