(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I want to get a new Mobo as my old one is not really a good overclocker and don't support SLI, however. I have a few questions regarding if I should update both mobo and CPU to the Haswell 1150 socket. Or if I should stay on the old 1155 Sandybridge socket.

If I stay on 1155, my i5 2500K will suffice me at least another year, and when it gets to tired I could replace it with say like an i7 3770K which I think will get the job done a couple of years into the future.

If I move over the new socket 1150 I'd have to get a new mobo as well as a new CPU, something like an i5 4670K or i7 4770K.

My question is, will I be better of putting down all the money for a full upgrade now, or will the old socket still have enough juice in it so that it will keep up with new games and software well in to the future? I hear the Haswell ins't much of an improvement regarding performance..

Although your 2500k may not be the best overclocker, it will get the job done even at stock speeds until Broadwell or even Skylake comes out.
