If you are willing to spend the money for a third gen i5 just get the i7. It will make the computer run faster and with such a nice gpu you will be happy to have a quicker cpu. Also you should look into getting the 1tb WD caviar black. I have one and it is one of the fastest mechanical drives. It is really amazing. I listed these in order of most important to least important fixes. You would be PERFECTLY fine with leaving your build the way it is but this will just make it a little quicker (for not a whole lot more money) and will help you in years to come when it comes to upgrading and replacing parts.

It seems like you may be a first time builder and first time designing a rig so you may want to read this:
nextgenupdate.com/forums/computers/652312-pc-building-tips-things-you-may-not-know.htm
I am not trying to plug my own work but I made it to help out first time builders so I am trying to help you out with a thread I have already made.

on my computer at least it is saying it can't find the thread from that link. If you want to read my tips and help for first or second time builders go to my profile and go to my started threads, then go to page 2 and hit CTRL + F (to find) and type in "tip". There should only be one thread.

You don't need a caviar black and a ivy bridge has cheaper z77 boards that have good reviews to show there quality and a gtx 760 is equal in benches to a gtx 670

I built as PC for my cousin before (well he picked out the parts, I just put them together for him). Anyways, this is my first i'm picking out parts for myself. BTW, i read the thread.

Sorry but an i7 is not worth it for the purpose of gaming. The only times the i7 shines is when you are rendering or doing other highly demanding multi-threaded apps. The WD Black is frankly a waste of money considering Seagate has the same performing hard drives for less money, but I do not recommend the green either. This is what I would recommend: You must login or register to view this content.. I have never had issues with Seagate.
