What do you guys prefer? I'm currently running Windows 8, prior to this I was running Windows 7 Ultimate. I loved Windows 7 & saw nothing wrong with it. Then again I haven't noticed anything wrong with Windows 8 but I have been having thoughts to going back to Windows 7 just because of Aero Glass & the old start menu. Personally, I don't like the Windows 8 start menu, if you compare it to W 7's. What do you guys think about windows 8 & Windows 7? Should I go back?:( You must login or register to view this content.

Worth the Weight
Just use startisback. Windows 8 is faster in pretty much every aspect, even in boot times. I see no reason to get it if you are getting a new machine, unless you really really really love Windows 7.

Today Will Be Different
I enjoy Windows 7. I have no need to update to Windows 8. I've heard that Windows 8 has had it's up, and it's down, but all in all I love the older Start Menu compared to what Windows 8 has. :y:

Windows 8 + third party fix for default start screen implementation* = better than Windows 7.

* I personally use Start8.

RIP PICHU.
Windows 8 in terms of most things is much faster. They did introduce a 1-9.9 rating on hardware versus the previous 7.9 if I remember correctly.

Windows 8 does have compatibility issues with some older software but there are ways to work around that.

I saw it is preference at this point in the game to be fair, I'm used to Windows 8; I don't use any of the apps except the metro screen to hold all of my programs for a quick click.

Even on an older machine it's still pretty quick on the boot times.

There are still some problems and till there are some updates for the stuff I use, I am sticking to 7 for the time being

Dan
I'm a god.
I don't like Windows 8 UI, just my opinion. Windows 7 just fits my preferences.
