Jaws has taken a bite into RAM records
New hardware age is here with G.SKILL Ripjaws series hardware ripping into the record books with a model running at 4004Mhz.
Taiwan based firm was only able to get these speeds by using a custom liquid nitrogen cooling system. Achievement is made even better using low yield memory chips from a new spec of memory chips.
Current chips run just short of DDR-3 at 3100Mhz DDR4 highest chip speed is around 100Mhz less.
Steam's refund policy is in hot water
Australia's consumer rights commission is taking Valve to court over it's refund policy.
Consumers were not entitled to a refund for any games.
Valve had excluded from the terms or restricted or modified statutory guarantees and/or warranties.
Valve was not under any obligation to repair, replace or provide a refund for a game where the consumer had not contacted and attempted to resolve the problem with the computer game developer.
So basic version is that statutory consumer guarantees did not apply to games sold by Valve. Which falls short of current customer laws.
Company is going to cooperate with the group, does bring up the question a global refund policy?
