You talkin to me?
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am looking forward to installing Kali Linux on my macbook air, I've tried two attempts to install linux mint 17 but every time I get stuck trying to install the broadcom driver for the wifi to work, also I partition the hard drive but when I select it, linux takes over the whole thing and I end up restoring the computer again, I have a seagate hard drive 1TB. So I was wondering if I can just install linux on it, and be able to still use my OS X without having to partition my macs' hard drive. So every time I connect my hard drive to my mac it will allowing me to boot in to linux, if anyone here can help me or just pm a tutorial with download links and guide on how to do it or just post it below would be great thanks in advance guys Happy

Any reason you aren't doing this in a virtual machine?

Well a virtual machine would run inside whatever OS you are using and you only run it when you want to. Think of it as running any other program.

If wireless drivers are your problem, do the install with a ethernet cable plugged in, if that still doesn't work download your drivers before doing the install to a flash drive, if partitioning is your problem, do some research and then partition manually, for GNU / Linux all you need is a root and home partition, you might also want a swap too, so long as you're not selecting to install GNU / Linux on the same partition as OSX, you shouldn't have a problem, never trust automatic partitioning tools, they often do a shit job if you use an irregular partition tables. The GRUB installer will deal with detecting any other OS's installed using OS prober or whatever the utility is called. Also if you're actually intending to use GNU / Linux as an everyday OS, don't install Kali it's a pile of shit with broken packages that only wannabe skiddies use. Install one of the Ubuntu derivatives or Debian, if that's too main stream for you you could try Arch, Gentoo, Linux from Scratch or Slackware.
