Well, if you're going to be do some light gaming I'd say Windows. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of great linux flavors to choose from but gaming hasn't really expanded all that much on linux kernels.

You can get Steam on all linux flavors and there are a few games that will run. I'm unsure about WoW. I've never played it but I don't see why it couldn't be cross platform. It's surely a big enough title that I don't see why not.
