Maybe try reboot and press F12 and boot from the HDD that way?


He's done that.. Won't boot from hdd.. Something happened to it when it updated windows 10 and was already on windows 10 too the laptops like a week old.

What. Its only like a week old. Why would it need a new hdd. Keeps saying insert boot disk.. What and why can't he do that,, what's he need a new os install ? Can he keep his stuff off it or like recover it.

And thinking about it.. If the windows on the HDD is fked what's the point cloning it? The clone gonna have the same problem too?

It said there was this missing.. Windows/system32\winload.efi. Error code 0xc00000f.
So I tried changed UEFI to legacy and that error don't come up no more but still don't boot in to windows

UEFI is fine, i think the Boot manager itself has gone.


Anyway to fix it without losing his stuff.? what's it need new windows install? He took his laptop home now, I couldn't get it working last night. But ain't got windows to try either yet.
