(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I've been wanting to do some arbitrage trading but I was curious if anyone has tried it and if so, is it worth it? I'm currently working on a program that monitors coin prices and can alert based on specific conditions and I was thinking of adding possible arbitrage opportunity alerts. The idea is to utilize a bunch of exchange APIs and try to find the biggest margin between them for any given coin. It's something I could easily implement, but I'm just not sure if it's worth the time investment or not.

I feel like with fees/times to trade it'd be difficult to do? Youd need to find like a minimum difference between two exchanges for it to be worthwhile but I guess sometimes that isnt too hard. I remember one day when bitcoin was skyrocketing coinbase was like 2000 above all other exchanges but their fees are insane so I didnt try anything

Yeah, that's definitely an issue but a lot of the newer coins don't really have too many issues with large transfer fees and long transfer times. If you accounted for exchange fees and all of that along with the margins, I feel you could get lucky every once in a while.

I tried to do this and thought I hit the jackpot a couple weeks back when Bitcoin Cash was first listed on Coinbase. I sent my BCH from Bittrex that I purchased @ around $3100 and CB listed it as $8500. I got so fucking happy till I found out they froze everything and fixed the price shortly after. Pissed me the fuck off.

i mean with your knowledge and computing skills im sure you can reduce that margin for "luck" by a lot, but personally ill continue just to shill my main man bitcoin core and follow my mantra till i die.
