It's spelt exotic, does that help?
Do the weekly challenge to get 3 coins every week with every character. There is one in the 4th golden chest you find on Mars. Turning in rare and legendary engrams gives you coins quite often (I seem to get more when Xur is around, could be just me though).
This week's challenge is easy to solo so that should give you some quick coins.
