I guess by not fitting the boxes, you are talking about the boxes at the bottom of your channel - correct?

If so, you cannot have them covered by your background image, only by a solid colour. This is why your existing background fades to a solid colour.

What you need to do is continue to use the image you have for your background, but select a solid colour for it to fade to.

To do this, follow these instructions:

• log into your account and visit your channel.
  
• Select 'Themes and colours' at the top of your screen
  
• Click 'Show advanced options'
  
• Make sure 'Repeat background' is not ticked
  
• Change your background colour to '#f6e4bc'
  

This will give your channel the fade affect I believe you are looking for.

Nah man, you can't have a background image that large that covers all of your page, or at least you can't from what I've seen.

Examples are:


I'm pretty sure that your background image can't cover the whole of your channel, and that it's best to blend it.

I guess someone could still try and make one anyway
