yes you can upgrade them since there are different versions of PSGroove, the latest version being 1.4 Hermes. If you talking about the official jailbreak then on their site it does say a new version is going to be released before the end of this month.

As for the price, where you been? lol on Ebay you can get them incredibly cheap for as little as £19, but if you want a cheap solution which is a really good standard then your best bet is the minimus AVR.

Theres a standard quality one and a very high standard quality one.
