when i got the ps3 nothing was wrong with it then i turned it off and it would not show up on the screen but no worry i fixed it then i noticed that the ps3 would not turn of when you press the button, you had to turn it off from the back. so i opened up the ps3 and i could not fix that problem, so i would just turn it of from the back.
i stopped using it right when the 3.55 update came out or around there. so im not sure if the ps3 is on 3.50 or 3.55 sry but im possitive that its not on 3.56 because i have not used it like in 2-5 months ago.

and when your in system recovery mode check that the hard drive i gave you is not corrupted because i think that is the reason i stopped using it i was just to lazy and did not give a fu(k.
just buy a 20gb hard drive or somthing likr that. but i will definitly give you a hdd

the ps3 will come with all cables like
the power cord
video cable
and NO CONTROLLER sry i have 4 controllers and 2 of them are opened up and sh!t like that

the ps3 will come with the hdd, all cables, the top, and all screws...
the only thing it is missing is the hard drive caddy which cost around $1.00 on ebay or amazon

And why dont u just turn it off using PS controller or "Turn off system"?

Never believe what ppl say on ebay, (in this case) no one will sell a 3.55 PS3 if it doesnt have anything wrong.

Give more details, model, hard drive capacity etc?

Also did you say that it is the "power" button that doesnt work or what?

i got this ps3 way before the 3.55 hack even came out and i am selling this ps3 because i already have 2 other ps3. so y have 3 ps3 and the power button does work to turn it on but not to turn it off. dont know why
