Hmm i already have a 3.55 PS3 and a 4.1 something PS3 but the 3.55 PS3 is a Slim where as my 4.1X is a Fat PS3 and is bound to die soon as i've had it since it came out, i'm considering buying this as i need a fully working 4.1X PS3 and i want a 3.55 PS3, but this PS3 has a fault and more information on the Blu Ray fault?

I have taken a lot of care with the console and have made sure the chance of YLOD is slim by using cooling methods and not playing excessively. In your situation i would keep this on the 3.55 firmware and then upgrade your other console as the blu-ray is slightly faulty as it has a tendency not to read the discs. The PS3 is great for data transfer and plays back-up games flawlessly.
