i had a problem with my PS earlier on, and i managed to update it with a demonstration version of the latest software.
now, my problem is that it wont let me play online, is there any way to update the firmware or revert back to normal rather? i am currently doing a full system restore, with a full format, but if that fails, need options? iv tried searching for an answer, but couldn't find anything, so i do apologize if somethings already been posted that iv missed..

To get back to the retail FW, download the 4.20 update from the PlayStation site and then update it via the recovery menu.

tried that mate, doesnt work, it comes up saying "the data is corrupted"

im trying it with another version of firmware (4.20) but from the same person that gave me the other one, seems to be updating at the moment via the recovery menu, if it does work, would it be ok to upload the file for others that run in to same problem as me?

thats what i tried first time round bud, didnt work, had it running through the night, took nearly 6 hours to complete

if sorted it out now, it was a version of the firmware that i needed, i think its diffrent from the OFW, worked like a charm, ill ask a mod if i can upload it for other people just incase they run into the same problem as me
