PAINTING

Painting is the fun part and is always good to show off to your friends, but can take some time. You'll need to get a few different kinds of paint, starting with an adhesive promoter. Dupli-Color has a really good one that I recommend which can be found at most auto stores(Auto Zone, Advanced Auto Parts) It comes in a burnt red can. What this does is helps bond your paint to the plastic. Also youll need to get Krylon Fusion for Plastics, which can be found at Walmart or Kmart. Get what ever color you want and you'll need to get a Krylon Fusion for Plastics Clear Coat which can be found at Kmart.

First spray a light coat of adhesive promoter and 3-4 minutes later spray another light coat, followed by a wet coat 3-4 minutes after that. Then wait 3-10 minutes before spraying your first coat of regular paint, wait 15-20 minutes in between coats(2-3 coats will do the job). Let that completely dry(24 hours) before spraying your clear coat, which will protect from peeling. You can touch it 24 hours after that last coat, but don't use yet. Wait about 2 days then put the controller outside in the sun. I would leave it there all day and take it in at night(to protect from dew/ rain) put it back out and continue to do this for a week. This will help dry it out completely which will take that sticky feeling out of the paint, plus keep it from peeling or wearing off because the sun hardens it.

Here's the way I did mine

Red Tiger

Follow the steps above for the timing.
First I sprayed 3 coats of adhesive promoter, then sprayed 2 coats of red. After drying I cut my own stencils(tiger stripes) out of painters tape with an xacto knife, and spreaded the stencils on both sides of the controller. After I finished that I hit the controller with 3 coats of black paint, when finished drying I removed the tape and hit the controller with 2 coats of clear coat. IT LOOKS AMAZING!!

Accessories

I usually add on some must have accessories to my controllers, starting with REAL TRIGGERS. I don't have a single Ps3 controller without these, as they feel really good and help things out in tight situations in cod. You can find these at radio shack for a low 5 bucks.
Another really good accessory(havnt tried yet but heard its good, ordering today) are KONTROL FREEKS. Theses are supposed to make accuracy alot better and fell pretty good. These work for Ps3 and 360! You can find these at You must login or register to view this content.

I also have a keypad but not nessasary unless you type alot. These can be found at walmart, target, etc.

LED Mods

Not much I can say for this besides you can find LED's at radioshack for super cheap. Look up videos all over youtube for tutorials on this.

Make your controller original and upload some photos. Lets see what you got!
