Post: How do you guys deal with mental health? (NSFW maybe?)

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Tablets don't work. Been taking them for 3 years. I can't quite describe it, but they rob you of energy and dilute your emotions. I'm coming off them now. Adrenaline is surging back. Emotions (mainly positive) are coming back. I've started using prostitutes. Best therapy you can get for about a day. Paying somebody for their body. Gives me an insane feeling of power. Power over somebody else. They have to do what you want. Wrong maybe? But that's how I feel. That's how I deal with my mental health issues. If you guys have any better suggestions then I'm all ears. Would do me some good right now to hear other opinions and experiences. May help me get past this dark chapter in my life.

Also, I'm at that point in my life where two distinct friend groups have developed and I feel stuck in-between. Older friends are moving away. Developing their careers. Having children. Younger friends are always being made and they like to drink or how any other 18-23 year old spends their time. Then there is me. I feel stuck in-between. Quite literally in-between. I'm a young guy (23), but look like a 35 year old and I'm told I have the maturity of one. (Whether I like it or not I can't escape this. I look like an old guy trying to reclaim younger years. The younger crowd isn't quite my scene in this situation and I can't change that. I find myself having to accept myself as part of an older crowd.) Not quite sure if I'm ready to move on or do I want to move on? Would this give me a sense of fulfillment that I feel I may be lacking at the moment. I long for the past times that I obviously can't recreate. I'm getting older whether I like it or not. Do I acknowledge the past as fun times and do I tell myself there are new, but different memories and times ready to be experienced. What does that entail? What do people past my age even do? Graduate, get a career, car, house, make a family. Currently in process. And I'm impatient. I want all that now. This is what my older friends are currently experiencing and I can't share in that. I can't quite catch up at the moment. I don't have the resources.

Can't believe I'm sharing this on a gaming forum. Guess I needed an echo chamber to speak out.

I'm here for suggestions as well. After the last couple of years I'm having mental problems that also affect my life badly. Ex. Anger management issues and the rest. I only have tried hiding it, but there are times you need to burst out. Maybe a friend can help? Idk

It's impossible to hold it in. It will come out as anger issues or in my case during a drunken stupor. There has to be somebody for us to talk to. Either therapy, family or maybe another friend. Forget the notion that it's unmanly to do as such. That's one more problem on a heap that we just don't need. On the outside I'm as manly as they appear. Built, hairy, fuck girls, drink, smoke, deep voice etc. On the inside I'm just about holding it together. In some cases I don't. I break down around my mum or my dad. I guess we need to work on more pressing matters first. Then we can move on and start building ourselves up.

Alcohol tends to relief me on the mental issues going on, usually I have a glass of wine with dinner and that does the trick... when i'm drunk drunk.. I can be completely fine or in a murderous mood. It has nothing to do with being manly, you/we need to talk it out. I have no friends to talk to, my parents I wouldn't bother asking, I feel like i'm doing well doing it how I am.. not sure how long it will last... just pushing that negative energy and trying to turn it into positive and pushing that to my interests which are work and gaming.

Also i'm far from a man... well I am but look wise... 10-11 stone, 6ft 5, bag of bones, don't smoke, am hairy, I have a oddly deep voice... people usually think I have voice changer on or i'm black... i'm white lol

Even coming here and talking helps tbh a simple PM or a DM on discord.

Me being 18 i rather not start drinking it out. But yes talking helps sometimes. I usually sleep or game and tend to ignore everything else till i burst or something

We all have our vices. Our own coping mechanisms. I agree with the last sentence. Just coming here. Getting shit off my chest. Talking to you and Calculus. It makes me feel better.

Don't start drinking if you're not a drinker. Gaming and talking with friends is a much better alternative coping mechanism. I've done both. Much prefer the latter method.

I hear you. Shit's tough that sometimes you just stand or sit there looking into absolute nothingness. Thinking about stuff... If that's how I am for a while I just tend to listening to music and if it doesn't help I just get a beer or something and try to pass time. I am not a drinker but sometimes its the only thing that can get you through. Especially for me now that I just moved out of my city to live somewhere near the university I attend and I have no friends to talk to. I just sit there alone at classes.

Reminds me of my years from 18 to 20. Is your family near by? I found out that I don't have to move out straight away if I'm going to be sat alone drinking a beer. So I moved back home. Nothing wrong with that until I find a partner or a good friend. Spent a lot of money and time drinking the nights away. I feel marginally better here with family than I do on my own. Right now. Talking to you and Squid, getting shit of my chest is helping you know? Nice to find people that get it.
