I was recently watching the news and caught like 2 seconds of this report so I figured I'd look further in to it. I found it pretty interesting so I figured I'd post it and hear the thoughts of NGU members on it.
Recently a Dutch website called

Well if you leave information such as the fact that you are leaving on vacation, this website logs that information broadcasting it to many others. This leaves your house completely vulnerable. The objective of this site isn't to get people robbed. They claim its objective is simply to raise awareness on how people use certain websites such as google buzz and stuff like that. These websites are no different than twitter. Your information is not completely safe.
The maker of the website says - "The danger is publicly telling people where you are. This is because it leaves one place you're definitely not... home."
In my honest opinion, them knowing where you publicly are is just as bad for you as it is your home.
Let's take vacationing for example. You are out of town and do not know the parts very well. There are many thieves and stalkers in this world. Whose to say these people aren't using that site to keep tabs on you? Maybe you are going to the parts where they live and tend on robbing or mugging YOU while you are on vacation, not your house. In a way, this site also makes it easier for rapist.
