My great-grandparents met in the middle of WWI, funny story actually...

Great grandma (looked like an old bat, bitch is dead now) was a stretcher carrier, great grandpa was a soldier.

Anyway, one of the teachers at my school knows someone who served in 'Nam. He was chatting with one of his friends, and his friend wasn't responding, and he looked over to see his friend had no head left. Screwed him up for life.

I hate war.

Former Staff
My great-grandfather Paul Carlson was in WWll in the Air Force. He was a pilot bomber and was shot down behind enemy lines. P.O.W. at Stalag 17B until him and some other soldiers made an escape. He was captured again though until the end of the war. He died about 20-40 years after the war had ended.

My Grandfather served in the Army but never saw action. He died at 73 years of age in Feb 08.

My Uncle Jim is a Captain in the Air Force, now serves as a teacher on base in Texas.

My Cousin Robert is also in the Navy although I'm not sure of his rank, I'm thinking Sergeant. He has been back and forth from Iraq and Baghdad, Kuwait and the states.

My ancestors from Italy (like my great-grandfathers Dad and his Grandfather) were in the Italian Military, but that's all I know about that.

On my Mother's side all that I know is that my Grandfather Bill Bailey served in Vietnam in the Army. He used to tell me stories about how to sleep there with "zipperheads" runnin' around all the time. Him being black had left him with bad things to say about the Army and how they mistreated him, and didn't give him his money after discharging. (he's married into the family)
