^^VIDEO^^Copied Straight From Website: Ever since the first "Dead Rising," people were desperate for co-op play. In every zombie movie ever, it's always a group of survivors fending off the hordes, so to make "Dead Rising" a strictly solo experience was just a miss opportunity. But that qualm has been rectified for "Dead Rising 2," which has full co-op play throughout the entire campaign.
How It Works
Let's say you are playing through the campaign of "Dead Rising 2" and a friend wants to join your game. Lucky you! Your in-game cell phone will ring and you'll be asked if you want Player X to join your game. Say yes and you'll be kicked to a loading screen as your friend joins the fun. You won't lose progress (it doesn't send you back to the last checkpoint, for example), and when the load ends you'll be right back to where you were before he or she joined. When your friend wants to leave, you'll be able to continue on like nothing happened. Delightful.
Who Do They Play As?
Chuck Greene. Who do you play as? Also Chuck Greene. The idea for co-op is that you can bring your leveled up campaign character into their game, complete with inventory, special moves and, best of all, outfit. So while you're both playing as Chuck Greene, invariably one of you will be decked out in footie pajamas and a Blanka mask, while the other might be rocking a mini skirt and sweater set. Yes, the ridiculous costumes of "Dead Rising" are back.
What Do They Get For Joining You?
Apart from the fun of killing zombies with a friend? Plenty! While the host of the game is the one who "owns" campaign progress, the joining player can still get experience, cash and inventory items. Given that the first "Dead Rising" basically required multiple playthroughs, it's not a terrible idea to join a friends game on your first time through, just as a means of leveling up faster. You won't be able to progress your own campaign, but that's what playthrough number two is for.
When I saw "Dead Rising 2" running with co-op, I was a little stunned. The game was revealed a year ago and this was the first we had heard of it. Definitely thrilled that the guys at Blue Castle were able to pull it off, though. It'll make the zombie apocalypse way less lonely.
EDIT: My output (Vanitas) I think this is going to be a revolutionary game in terms of co-op and just pure zombie slaying, I have always liked zombies and this series ever since the first one on Xbox, release date confirmed for August 31st, 2010
a thanks would be appreciated if you liked the info =D
