In the history of the NHL, only 5 teams that have gone down in a postseason series 0-3 have ever comeback to force a game 7. The Flyers last night became the 6th team to do so, and have an oppurtunity to become only the third team in NHL history to win a game 7.
In professional sports history, only 3 teams have ever accomplished this feat. Two are in the NHL, one in MLB. The 1947 Toronto Maple Leafs, the 1975 New York Islanders, and the 2004 Boston Red Sox. Now the Orange and Black are in a position to be the 4th team.
It's an incredible story. The game will be on Versus on Friday night, 14 May, 2010. 7PM EST.
Stay classy there Bruins fan...stay classy. Don't throw any trash on to the ice when the Bruins are down in the 3rd.
Seriously, the Flyers got the Bruins offense (if you can call it that) figured out. They lock in on the puck carriers, force them outside, and cut off their passing lanes. Unless the Bruins figure out a way to pass it back inside and avoid the aggressive 3-man attack on the carrier...they're not going to win.
Boston could only beat Philly when all there players were injured.
The game Gagne comes back, they start winning.
Since Leighton came back, they've outscored Boston 5-1.
