From the Dow Jones Newswires:
Electronic Arts Inc. (ERTS) has been served with a patent-infringement lawsuit in relation to the "Mirror's Edge" franchise. The lawsuit file by California based Edge GamesInc. amd it's predecessor companies have used the Edge trademark since 1984. They also sent EA a cease-and-desist letter in July 2007 when learning of the the maker's plans to launch Mirror's Egde. Instead of responding EA applied to register the game name as a trademark which was denied in 2008 by the US patent and trademark office. There are negotiations going on now, even still EA has plans for a sequel to Mirror's Edge.
