Post: What is going on with my connection?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The last few days, I have had problems with my internet connection and my PS3. I first thought it might be my wireless router but I have hooked my PS3 directly to my router and still have problems. I am looking for help/suggestions on anything I can do.

The first problem I am having is when I am in a game (MW2)the connection will go from really low (1 orange bar) to a really strong connection (all green bars), I will lag around for sometime and the connection will come back and I will be fine for awhile again. Most of the time, it kicks me out of the game. The other problem is I get host a lot, I will be playing a game and all the other players will be kicked out. I will get the message saying enemies are forfeiting and every once in awhile a whole new group of players will be put in the room.

I am looking for help/suggestions on anything I should check/do to fix the problem?

I did some searching in the forums and similar problems to mine seem to be related to the wireless router. I have the same problem even when I bypass the wireless router and connect directly to my modem.

I use to have this problem and it was because my sister was using the internet at the same time as I was playing online if that is what causing this for you then tell everyone in your house to get the **** off the internet so you can use it for more important tasks e.g. playing online.

If this is not the case try port forwarding your router for information on how to do this Google "port forwarding" and click the first site that is shown, that site will show you how to port forward your router specifically for cod4.

Another cause of this problem could be your router is simply overheating, try turning it off for 30 minutes and then try playing online again.
