I was looking at another thread which in I posted what my 11 against Slovenia would be, here it is:
Defoe (Forward)
Crouch (Forward)
Gerrard (Centre Attacking Midfield)
Milner (Left Midfield) Barry (Centre Defending Midfield) Lennon (Right Midfield)
A. Cole (Left Back) Dawson (Centre Back) Terry (Centre Back) Johnson (Right Back)
James (Goalkeeper)
In a 4-3-1-2 formation, I feel this would work and be effective as it includes Gerrard's best position Milner an effective left midfield, another strong winger in Lennon and a really good striking partnership in Defoe and Crouch.
Although your probably deeply shocked not to see Rooney or Joe Cole, Rooney had played shockingly so far this tournament and "sacred" Joe Cole has played minimal football this season. Rooney's usual pace and resiliance would be complimented by playing Gerrard behind the front two and playing Barry, who has had a good tournament in a central defensive midfield role would give the team a good defensive edge. Also, Dawson has had a good season in thre Premier League and I belive he would be a much better replacement for shitty Caragher than Upson (who i'm believe is no better than Carragher).
So, what would be your starting 11 against Slovenia?
