If you're not going to buy the Astro A40's or the mixamp, don't get any other headset from Astro.

If you are going to go down to the Astro A30's, you'd be better off getting a Tritton AX720 headset.

Always go with the better model for obvious reasons.

Astro A40's (I personally have this) has low base great sound quality... Better for Gaming as it is pretty big and would not be suited for taking it out to listen to music or anything. around ear

Astro A30's Better base it is On ear better for music and gaming i guess it is small compared to the a40's So you can take it out and stuff... A30s are leaning more to music and A40 is gaming. But they are both 5.1 surround sound.

In my personal opinion I believe headsets are not something to waste your money on. Hearing another player's footsteps online easier is not something to waste $150 on.
