(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay guys so we are fast approaching that time of year again, when all the game developers decide to release the best and most anticipated games of the year all in the space of a few month.

Not only is this an exciting time of the year for gamers it also leaves many penniless.
So here's the rundown of the best games to look out for this Fall:

Halo Reach
Release: 14/09/10

You must login or register to view this content.

The fifth mainline game in the Halo series is going to be more than a re-tread of FPS tropes that Halo itself helped make canon on the console; it may not have a number attached to its name, but this is still a big deal. For one thing, in addition to the added multiplayer options (including a revamped Firefight mode), Reach will also introduce space combat into the series. The mechanics aren't too terribly different from piloting a Hornet, but Jeremy Parish points out in his preview, "You have a full sphere of motion, with no fixed horizon." It's a fitting end to what may be Bungie's final Halo project. As Parish says, "It's clear that Bungie is planning to say farewell to the franchise that's dominated the studio for the past decade in style.

Call of Duty: Black Ops
Release: 11/11/10

You must login or register to view this content.
With CoD originator Infinity Ward out of the picture (for the time being, anyway), alternate developer Treyarch takes the mantle this year in Black Ops, and it looks like the company doesn't want to be taken as just the B-team anymore. The result is a new, non-World War II CoD that deals with black ops missions in places like Vietnam and Afghanistan, with plenty of explosions, daring feats, and dudes yelling over gunfire. In all seriousness, there's a lot of questionably similar plot elements in the campaign, but knowing the series, it's going to be multiplayer that will keep Black Ops in the limelight until the next installment: Features include a four-player co-op campaign, revised Create-A-Class, tons more achievements, and we'll bet on a new mode or two. As Thierry Nguyen writes in our original preview, "While Call of Duty: World at War did show that Treyarch is a damn fine developer that can get out of Infinity Ward's shadow, it's encouraging to see that the studio is putting its all into Black Ops, and that it has the capability of actually surprising us."

Vanguish
release: mid October

Vanquish looks like a sexy, shiny, future version of Gears of War, but calling it a knockoff would be unfair. This is, after all, the newest brainchild of Shinji Mikami, main man behind Resident Evil -- who left the series after RE4, which Gears probably took a camera angle or two from, anyway. Taken on its own, Vanquish's high-energy action (including but not limited to hero Sam Gideon's rockstar knee-slide move) and politically-influenced plot (Russia steals a US space station that harnesses solar energy that can also be weaponized) make for one very different third-person shooter. Even if, as Matt Leone wrote, "It seems quite a bit less ridiculous than what we've seen from Platinum thus far, with games like MadWorld and Bayonetta, and what we last saw from Shinji Mikami in God Hand."

Dead Rising 2
release: September

You must login or register to view this content.
Zombies may be in danger of becoming passé in pop culture, but outside of Nazis, they're still the go-to enemy when you need to recklessly slaughter large numbers of something. Either way, they're back in full force for Capcom's sequel to the popular 360 launch title Dead Rising. This time, you're taking the battle against the undead to Fortune City, a fictional Las Vegas facsimile), as you search for a cure to save the life of your infected daughter -- but that doesn't mean Dead Rising has taken a turn for the melodramatic. A large part of the game focuses on your ability to craft your own weapons (like taping knives to some boxing gloves to make an improvised Wolverine-like weapon). Oh, and you can also beat your foes senseless with dildos while wearing leather S&M gear. This is supposed to be like Vegas, after all

GoldenEye 007
Release: November

You must login or register to view this content.
With no new James Bond film for the foreseeable future, the games will have to suffice. Luckily, at least one of them already has a ton of interest behind it: The remake of GoldenEye, which doubles as both a retelling of the N64 game and the movie it's based on, with Daniel Craig's Bond taking center stage, and with some tweaks to the storyline (mainly ones that fit in more hectic action sequences). For those with the high-def consoles, you get your own original Bond story, Blood Stone, which plays up the fact that it has just as much variety as the average Bond movie, with cover-based gunplay, a host of driving missions, and other levels full of daring feats. Why not casino minigames and martini recipes, too?

AC: Brotherhood
Release: November

Do you remember that huge room at the beginning of Assassin's Creed 2 full of hundreds of Animii chambers? Brotherhood finally reveals the secret behind that strange warehouse: those beds are used to train Templar Knights as assassins. Basically, Brotherhood gives you a way to enjoy some more Assassin's Creed without having to hold out for the still far-off AC3, but this will be a very different game than what you might be expecting. Ezio's still in the game, and you're still in Rome, but instead of focusing solely on killing targets, building up and improving Rome (like improving your villa in the last game) takes a much more important role. Brotherhood also introduces new multiplayer modes (the focus of our previews so far) for up to eight players. You use the same tricks and tactics as in Assassin's Creed 2, but the men you have to dispatch now are real people, and there's a good chance that they're out to get you as well

Rock Band 3
Release: October

You must login or register to view this content.
Rhythm games have grown pretty staid and predictable over the past few years, but instead of bringing out another version of the same game with just a new roster of songs, Rock Band 3 is trying something genuinely different: including real instruments. With a keyboard, a real guitar (or a plastic guitar with buttons that represent each string and fret on the instrument), and additional drum pads, the game seems set to meet the designers goal of making even expert players play on Easy again. And, though it's not "new," even vocalists can find a greater challenge through harmony singing parts (previously only available in Beatles and Green Day).

NBA Jam
release: October

You must login or register to view this content.
A bonafide revival of Midway's original arcade game that actually looks and feels like it used to, with the same trademark realism-meets-goofiness? Some have complained that it's on Wii, but we're prepared to play it on anything. But for other console owners, a "limited" version of NBA Jam will be readily available for download when you purchase the full-price NBA Elite 11. A questionable tactic, perhaps, but the new Jam is a promising revival of the '90s moneymaker nonetheless.

I'm sure there are lots more games coming out though the Fall period but these are set to be the most popular of them all. In my opinion every year we see titles like these ready for release however when they are released most of them fail, I just hope that this year they get it right. I will say I'm looking forwar to Halo Reach though at first I wasn't convinced when i watched the trailer for the Forge world i changed my mind. Happy

What does everybody else think ?
