So what are your opinions of what has happened? Should we be allowed to operate rigs in the gulf anymore?

Simple answer:

If you don't want oil spills, get every American to stop using cars, motorbikes or anything else that requires oil.

It's not as if in some way you would use the oil sooner or later, and it's about time everyone understood this.

The American government can blame BP, BP can blame technology...but the blame lies with everyone. We all use oil, some more than others, and if you can't afford a mishap, you shouldn't have them drilling for it on your coastline.
