I've just moved away to university and planned on being able to listen to music and watch films without using headphones but since I moved in I though it would be rather inconsiderate to do that when I'm living with another person. So I'm looking to get some headphones for the main purpose of watching films and listening to music NOT playing games, I'm a total novice when it comes to choosing the right set though because I've never used any other headphones other than the standard iPod ones but essentially I'm looking for the best ones I can get that will be great for listening to music and watching films. So members of NGU what do you suggest I buy?

I'd say Headcandy G.I's or Hesh...both have a good sound from them

Tbh if you've only been using standard ipod hearphones you won't have much of an ear for high quality music if you see what I mean, (don't be offended) i'd go for some mid-range sennheisers or something, no point spending a lot of money as you probably won't be able to tell the difference (again don't be offended).

These are absolutely amazing, but very very expensive, from £100-£280.
