Religion itself doesn't cause the wars, it isn't a person with a gun, it's a set of words. It's a combination of people wanting to believe in something else to soften the blow of a death in the family or other such events.

But people have used this to their advantage and used it to control people and use it as fuel for wars. The only other thing I can think of where people use something to control people is for oil (iraq)

I'm not forcing atheism on anyone, nor am I trying to push my 'beliefs' on anybody. The main reason is because, I have none, other than you should never put down all your chips on one bet.

I respect highly for not going down the generic route of 6 year old flaming when someone (myself) argues with your expressed viewpoints.

If i'm honest, I actually love debates. I love expressing view points and seeing others and it's quite refreshing to have people such as yourself, Como and maybe a couple other posters with intelligent responses and it actually makes me see my own mistakes now and then =D

i agree religion doesent cause wars but the text in any religion can be interpeted as warmongering, christians/chatholics/prodisents have been the best at flipping the text around to start a war

chatholics, nazis (can be called a religion), hindus, muslims and judism and a few more all have done horrible things in the name of there "god" or "gods"
