Its originaly a PC headset, but will it work for PS3? I mean like surround sound/mic and all that

any PC headset will work for PS3/XBOX if you buy the adapters, if u want a cheap head set get turtlebeachs

got those (tritton ax 180) for 40 on ebay. my k/d rose .5 points. they worked vperfect. long cord, good sound. someone sat on them and they broke but theyre amazing

Grab some Turtle Beach HPX-1's (tournament series) and an Astro MixAmp and you'll go to town

most pc will work on ps3 with adapter i have turtule beach px21 there good but break easy i don't recommend if you have kids who will use it if not there great just take careof them

Well I know stuff about 3 different headsets which are ok.

Turtle beach px21's are cheap and decent stereo... I would recomend them for a cheaper headset.

ax720's are a great step up and I love them... most of my friends use them cause they are affordable for the quality.

Myself I use (even though I have the above pairs) astro a40's which are a little pricey but since I use them everyday and I play ps3 and xbox competitive gaming they are worth every penny. Best headset i've used so far.

I'll rate these sound set ups from one 1 - 10

1.Astro Mixamp + Audio-Technica AD700 (9/10)
2.Astro Mixamp + Sennheiser PC360 (8/10)
3.Astro Mixamp + SteelSeries Siberia v2 Full-Size Headset (6/10)

For 1, 2 and 3, You will need a Y-adapter, you can buy this from Amazon or Steelseries.com

For number 1. You will need a separate mic because its a headphone but this headphone has great sound, no headphones and headsets can beat AD-700 with $200 under price.

For number 2 and 3 it has good sounds but AD-700 still beats the two of them.

if you have the money A40's but if not just go some PX21's there always good..
